Maternity classes and hospital tours
It's important to be familiar with the place where you are giving birth. Prior to your delivery, be sure to tour our Birth Center at Sunrise Children's Hospital, as it will help you understand how the unit works and what you can expect when you arrive. The guided tour includes a look at our labor and delivery suites and mother/baby unit. We encourage you to ask your guide any questions you have. Your tour guide is happy to be a resource for you, and it is our privilege to care for you and your family.
High-risk pregnancy care
The Perinatal Center at Sunrise specializes in caring for expectant women with high-risk pregnancies. We combine leading technology with family-centered care to provide comprehensive high-risk care for you and your baby.
Our team consists of highly skilled obstetricians, perinatologists (OB/GYNs who specialize in high-risk pregnancies) and nurses who are all fetal heart rate certified through the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses, an accredited organization providing advanced nursing education.
Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU)
Our Level III NICU cares for babies born before 32 weeks, who have a low birth weight, and those who have medical conditions or need surgery. Our neonatologists and specialists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to care for our tiniest patients.
If your baby needs to be transported to Sunrise Children's Hospital for a higher level of care, our NICU transport team is available at a moment's notice.
