At Sunrise, our center offers patients comprehensive hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) treatment. We are the only hyperbaric facility in Southern Nevada to address life-threatening illnesses, including decompression illness, arterial gas embolism, cyanide poisoning and smoke inhalation on a 24-hour basis.

What to expect with HBOT

HBOT delivers 100 percent oxygen under pressure in a large and comfortable chamber. Patients can relax while listening to music or watching television. The patient breathes normally, increasing the amount of oxygen in the blood.

HBOT treatments are typically prescribed five days a week for approximately one hour each day for 20 days or longer. The amount of treatment depends on your plan.

Benefits of HBOT

HBOT provides patients with many benefits, which includes:

  • Increasing the elasticity of red blood cells
  • Reducing edema
  • Suppressing autoimmune responses
  • Helping blood carry more oxygen throughout the body
  • Promoting healing in tissue
  • Activating white blood cells to fight against infection
  • Improving:
    • Bone repair
    • Tissue salvage in burns
    • Nerve cell regeneration
    • Healing of hypoxic wounds
    • Viability of tissue flaps
