Las Vegas, NV - Cynthia “Cyndi” Johnson, RN, MSN, MHA, a 40-year healthcare executive veteran and Interim Chief Nursing Officer at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center and Sunrise Children’s Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada, has been promoted to Chief Nursing Officer. The announcement was made today by Todd P. Sklamberg, CEO, Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center and Sunrise Children’s Hospital.

Johnson joined Sunrise Hospital in April 2019 from Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, California, one of Sunrise Hospital’s partner hospitals in HCA Healthcare’s Far West Division, where she served as CNO for six years. During her Los Robles tenure, she was responsible for developing Nursing Practice Councils, implementing DAISY and Leadership Award recognition programs, and achieving American Nursing Credential Center-Pathways to Excellence Designation Certification Accreditation. Johnson’s other executive roles include: CNO, Research Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri; CNO, Menorah Medical Center, Overland, Kansas; and CNO, Baptist Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri.

Johnson achieved her Master of Science in Nursing from the Research College of Nursing, Kansas City, Missouri. She holds a Master of Arts, Health Services Management from Webster University, Kansas City Missouri. Her professional affiliations include: American College of Healthcare Executives; American Organization of Nurse Executives; National Association of Female Executives; Sigma Theta Tau International; and American Association of Critical Care Nurses, National & Local.
