Las Vegas, NV — The FLEX Program at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval® for disease-specific care in the areas of knee, hip, and spine by demonstrating compliance with national standards for healthcare quality and safety. The certification recognizes Sunrise's dedication to continuous compliance with The Joint Commission's rigorous standards.
"We are making a significant investment in the quality, patient-centric care that we provide throughout the region. This certification through the Joint Commission provides us a framework to take our organization to the next level and helps create a culture of excellence,” says Todd P. Sklamberg, Chief Executive Officer at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center. “Achieving Southern Nevada's first combined knee, hip, and spine certified program is a major step toward maintaining excellence and continually improving the care we provide.”
Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center underwent three rigorous on-site reviews in March 2014. A Joint Commission expert evaluated Sunrise for compliance with standards of care specific to the needs of patients and families, including infection prevention and control, leadership and medication management.
“In achieving Joint Commission certification, Sunrise has demonstrated its commitment to the highest level of care for its patients with knee, hip, and spine conditions,” says Jean Range, M.S., R.N., C.P.H.Q. Executive Director, Disease-Specific Care Certification, The Joint Commission. “Certification is a voluntary process and I commend Sunrise for successfully undertaking this challenge to elevate its standard of care and instill confidence in the community it serves.”
