Sunrise Hospital Critical Care Nurse Honored Nationally for Giving the Gift of Life
Las Vegas, NV – Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, Nevada Donor Network of Las Vegas and Palm Mortuaries and Cemeteries of Las Vegas are proud to honor a Sunrise Hospital Neurosciences ICU Nurse, Jill Collier-Kerr, during the 130th Rose Parade(R) on January 1, 2019 in Pasadena, Calif. After passing away suddenly in July of 2017, Collier-Kerr saved five lives through organ donation and restored the gift of sight to two more by donating her corneas.
On Wednesday, November 14 beginning at 11:00 AM, Sunrise Hospital will host a ceremony in Collier-Kerr's honor. During the ceremony, her co-workers, loved ones and other supporters are invited to pay special tribute by finishing the decoration of her Floragraph, a portrait made of floral and natural materials. This stunning portrait will then be featured on the Donate Life Rose Parade Float among other heroes from around the country who have given the gift of life through organ, eye and tissue donation.
Throughout her career as a nurse on the Neuro ICU unit, Collier-Kerr assisted in countless heroic donor cases to make hope and healing possible for others. Her co-workers on the unit cherish her memory and describe her as "extraordinary." The deserving recipient of a DAISY Foundation Award in 2015, she is remembered for the tremendous care compassion extended to patients and their family members and will be forever remembered as a hero.
