RESTORE Wound Program
RESTORE Wound Program
RESTORE is a comprehensive approach
The RESTORE Wound Specialty Program at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center provides a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary and integrated surgical and medical approach to:
- management of complex or chronic wounds
- treatment of conditions contributing to compromised limbs
- treatment of soft tissue infections
This program is committed to excellence in patient care.
In our new program we are able to care not only for various wounds, such as radiation injury, osteoradionecrosis, hemorrhagic cystitis, compromised skin grafts or muscle flaps and refractory osteomyelitis but also for carbon monoxide poisoning, decompression illness and gas embolism by utilizing our hyperbaric oxygen chambers.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Chambers
Sunrise RESTORE Wound Specialty Program is the only facility in Nevada to have the latest hyperbaric chamber (Sechrist 3300E) with a Comfort Profile. This allows the patient to be pressurized with a far greater margin of safety to prevent trauma to the patient’s air spaces such as the ear, sinus and stomach. All of our patients are being examined and their treatments are being supervised by our hyperbaric trained surgeons and physicians at all times.
Our outpatient program provides bothadult and pediatric wound care treatments. Additionally, we provide patients with nutritional consultants. Our goal is to treat the entire person and not just the wound.
Dr. Mirkia, the director of our RESTORE Program has brought in a team of experts consisting of a burn and critical care surgeon, infectious disease specialist, plastic surgeon, hand/orthopedic surgeon, interventional cardiologist, vascular surgeon, foot and ankle surgeon, oral maxillo-facial surgeon, and well trained wound specialists who are committed and available to take on the most challenging wounds and disease processes affecting our community. Inpatient and outpatient coordinated care - all in one location.
