Balloon Sinuplasty
Balloon Sinuplasty
Sunrise Hospital now offers Balloon Sinuplasty to treat chronic sinusitis
Balloon Sinuplasty™ is a new minimally invasive technology for treating chronic sinus inflammation. Through the Minimally Invasive Sinus Program at Sunrise Hospital, this breakthrough procedure relieves the pain and pressure associated with chronic sinusitis.
With Balloon Sinuplasty, a specially designed catheter is inserted into the nose to reach the inflamed sinus. A small balloon is slowly inflated, which widens and restructures without cutting. The balloon is then removed, leaving the sinuses open.
This procedure is less invasive than conventional sinus surgery allowing patients to quickly return to normal activities. It also eliminates much of the discomfort associated with routine sinus surgery like scarring, bleeding and severe pain. This procedure is available for both adults and children and prevents the reoccurrence of the disease.
