Multidisciplinary Gastrointestinal (GI) Cancer Program
Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center is proud to introduce a new Multidisciplinary Gastrointestinal (GI) Cancer Program.
Sunrise is a leader in cancer care in Las Vegas, the state of Nevada, and throughout the southwest and this new program brings together our physicians, staff, technology and facility to provide a higher level of care for those with GI Cancer.
This new program includes diagnosis and treatment of cancers of the:
- Small Bowel
Our diagnostic capabilities in this program feature Sunrise’s state-of-the-art Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) among other techniques and equipment. This will allow for a more detailed analysis and diagnosis.
A total of 36 physicians from various specialties bring advanced expertise and a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to providing the best possible diagnosis and care to patients in the program.

Additional care and expertise:
The program also features a nurse navigator to help patients throughout the process and facilitate care for the physicians who present patients. From the patient’s initial contact with us through all of the phases of care, the nurse navigator will provide guidance, education and assistance to patients and their loved ones.
And patients also benefit from the nursing and other clinical staff members at Sunrise, who provide compassionate care at every possible stage of a patient’s experience, whether it is at diagnosis, treatment or, if necessary, palliative care measures.

The Oncology Program at Sunrise Hospital is the only Certified Comprehensive Cancer Program accredited by the American College of Surgeons (ACOS) in Las Vegas, Nevada. We follow the standards set forth by the Commission of Cancer and this ensures our patients have access to the full scope of services required to diagnose and treat newly diagnosed cancers.
