A Patient Says Thank You

"I was admitted 2 different times for 2 different issues recently. The care that I received was absolutely perfect. The professionalism of every staff member was unreal. It was as if you were waiting for me to arrive just so you could impress me with your efforts and teamwork.

A saying that I live by is "You should always act as if you are on an interview" so I am always watching, auditing and interviewing wherever I go. With that being said, Wow, did Sunrise impress me!! Your staff is incredible!!!

Rhonda, ER Nurse at the Admissions window: With all of the craziness of patients interrupting constantly, she was kind, gentle and professional. She handled me as if I were her first and only patient.

Michael, ER Nurse: He was very caring and conscious of any potential pain that I was experiencing. He discussed the importance of diet and exercise in order to control my blood sugar levels.

Evelyn, RN, RAU: When I arrived, it was like I had gone to a family reunion. Evelyn was so kind and caring. I felt as if I was the only person in the hospital … with the attention that I received.

Oliver, Transport: Oliver is an extremely positive, polite and upbeat person. His focus was solely on me and my comfort. As Oliver transported me, I noticed he engaged with every person he passed providing a nice compliment or just Hello. I began to really see how close your staff was with how they interact in passing. Oliver, you make a big difference to everyone.

Diane, RN-West 500: The only things that Diane is missing are wings. She is truly an angel. She is incredible, caring, listens and will try to help you with whatever she can.

Leslie, RN, ED: Leslie was extremely nice and professional.

Amanda, RN, Charge Nurse: What I remember most about Amanda is her passion for caring. I know this because I was thanking her for the great care I was receiving and she began to tear up in appreciation. She said that is what she is here for and she loves her job helping patients.

Sam, RN: Sam was wonderful. She is a very positive nurse who brings energy to a room and creates a constant positive environment for each patient even though things may be crazy outside of the room…she doesn’t let that impact her.

In summary, your staff is incredible and deserves any kind of recognition possible to let them know that they are making a difference every minute of every day. Not everyone is going to thank you, but everyone does appreciate your efforts."
