Las Vegas, NV — Sunrise and Sunrise Children's Hospital are excited to share that Burton Cohen, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Sunrise Hospital and Sunrise Children's Hospital, has been awarded with the Nevada Hospital Association's Southern Nevada "Award for Trustee Excellence."
Burton has spent the past 17 years serving on Sunrise's board, currently serving as the Chairman. In addition to the Board meetings he attends and chairs, he attends more than 30 other meetings a year related to quality, patient safety and service excellence at the hospital.
Burton's contributions to the Las Vegas community are numerous. He was involved in the Las Vegas hotel and casino industry since 1966 and served as the president of various Las Vegas hotels, overseeing both the development and operations of several organizations. Additionally, he served as the two-term President of the Nevada Resort Association.
Beyond his professional role, he contributed to numerous civic and charitable causes in Clark County as well. He served on the Board and Executive Committee of the Anti-Defamation League, was a Board member for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and served on the Board for the local United Way organization too. He remains a leader in the hotel and gaming industry as a member of the Board of MGM International.
