March 16, 2010 - Las Vegas, NV -- Sunrise Hospital and Sunrise Children’s Hospital are pleased to announce a new partnership with CareFlight’s air ambulance services. CareFlight is a new air ambulance responder providing services to Las Vegas and the surrounding areas. Their capabilities include helicopter and fixed wing. Photos of the Sunrise helicopter are provided.
This helicopter has advanced features that will allow it to expedite transports as well as go into areas other medical helicopters can’t access, such as higher elevations. Those advanced features, coupled with the expertise and experience of CareFlight and all the Sunrise Health System teams, will help enhance the critical care services offered to residents of Nevada and surrounding states. Last year, thousands of patients of all ages were brought to the Sunrise Health System Hospital campuses via helicopter for the higher level of care offered at Sunrise Hospital and Sunrise Children’s, MountainView Hospital and Southern Hills Hospital. The service area of this new helicopter is approximately a 200-mile radius that will serve Nevada, Arizona, California and Utah. CareFlight’s fixed wing service transports everywhere in the continental United States.
The CareFlight crew will work closely with the Sunrise Transport Team to provide assistance for high-risk neonate and pediatric transports.
